Welcome to Holy Innocents'![]() Hello! You are very welcome to Holy Innocents' Catholic parish, whether you visit us in person or through our website. You will find us to be a warm and engaging community of people from many parts of the world, but with deep roots in Orpington. We welcome those who join us, whether for a short visit or for a lifetime. We pray, worship and grow together. We enjoy each other’s company. And we try, by our words and our actions, to share Christ’s message of love, peace and joy with each other and with everyone we meet. I do hope that you will be able to come and see for yourself; and I look forward to meeting you when you do.

Focus point -“Pope Francis says…” The Pope’s message for this Sunday, the 2018 World Day of Vocations, reminds us that God put each of us here for a unique purpose. “Our life and our presence in this world are the fruit of a divine vocation!” As we all know, it’s easy for God’s call to be “drowned out by the many worries and concerns that fill our minds and hearts”. How, then, can we discover “the call to joy that God addresses to us”? The Pope advises us to follow the example of Jesus by doing three things: Listening; discerning; living See newsletter for rest of message 29 April 2018 at Holy Innocents' Service at 2.30pm; Praying of the Glorious Mysteries at 3pm Praying of the Rosary together around the coast and other locations to ask God to bless our country. We heard in the Holy Week liturgies the songs of the Suffering Servant from the book of Isiah, the fourth of which likens the servant to a lamb lead to the slaughter. We hear this fourth Sunday of Easter Jesus declaring himself to be the Good Shepherd who knows his own sheep.
Traders in financial markets have a concept called “skin in the game,” which differentiates those who have opinions about the market from those who have actual investments in the market. The former - academics, journalists, bloviators - suffer no consequences from their mistakes; the latter can be ruined.......................

John 15: 1-8
Christ said I AM THE TRUE VINE - REMAIN IN ME, AND I IN YOU
In this chapter, Jesus is pictured for us as The True Vine
As they walked toward the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus began to talk to his disciples about vines, vine dressers and fruit.
