Youth Alpha at Holy Innocents'

Youth Alpha course

Our next Youth Alpha course will be announced in due course, however the times will be from 7.30 to 9.15 pm, in The Fr Phelan Centre - the new Parish Centre at Holy Innocents', Orpington.

Because of COVID 19 restrictions, we have limited numbers, so it is advisable to register in advance.

How do I register for the course?

Picture
By taking three simple steps:
  • download the attached Course registration form
  • complete and sign it (for under 18s, a parent or guardian
    must do this)
  • return the completed and signed form -  by email to orpingtonalpha@rcaos.org.uk or in hard copy to our Parish Office.
You could also bring the completed form in person on the first night - but then you'll be running the risk that we might have filled all our places. If in doubt, get in contact with us - see contact details below.

Who’s Youth Alpha for?

Teenagers (12 or 13 year olds in Year 8 up to 19 year olds).

Non-believers; committed Christians; any shade in between: Youth Alpha has something special to offer, wherever you stand.

What’s the link between Youth Alpha and Confirmation?

We have found that Youth Alpha is a great starting point for teenagers thinking about being confirmed.

That's why we make Youth Alpha the "gateway" to Confirmation at Holy Innocents'.

In other words, if you are a parishioner at Holy Innocents', we ask you to take part in Youth Alpha before you move forward to prepare for Confirmation. (Our Confirmation preparation is much shorter than it used to be as a result.)

You can read much more about this here.

What’s Youth Alpha about?

Life.

And the love that’s at the heart of the Christian faith.
When and where does it happen?
We ran our first Youth Alpha in 2018 and our second in 2019, both on Sunday evenings from September to December the third was in 2021- early 2022.

They were brilliant!

So we're looking forward to running another one, again on Sunday evenings, starting on 14 November 2021.

Ten weekly sessions at Holy Innocents’ Orpington, BR6 9UE.

Plus a weekend (Saturday morning to Sunday afternoon) away in late January or early February - date to be firmed up soon.
What’s it like?
Welcoming. Inclusive. Informal.

Eat. Watch a film. Say what you think. Listen to what others think.

Have fun. Bring friends. Make friends. Meet God along the way.
What’s the catch?
There isn’t one.

Weekly sessions are free.

There's no pressure. You can just leave, or not come back the next week, if you don’t like it. It's all up to you.

Why not come and try it out?
Anything else?
